School visits and conference presentations provide Mary Ann with the opportunity to combine her love of teaching and her love of writing. In each presentation she shares her enthusiasm for the creative process and explores the skills needed to fully develop an idea from ‘the brain to the bookshelf’. Mary Ann is comfortable speaking to students of all ages, from the youngest of storytellers to aspiring authors of chaptered novels.
Presentations are crafted to meet the needs and interests of each audience. In addition to school visits, Mary Ann has been invited to speak at career days, luncheons, writers’ workshops, educational conferences, and writing awards program celebrations.
Visits include time for the audience to chat with Mary Ann and have books personalized.
Mary Ann believes that we all have stories to tell and encourages writers of all ages to consider themselves authors. For additional information about author visits, please email her.
Quotes from educators:
“I was fortunate to have an author’s visit to my classroom by Mary Ann Riehle. It was the highlight of the year for both my class and the rest of the school.”
“Mary Ann was a delight! She was so good with the children. It was especially sweet when she looked at the alphabet and number books that the children had made. Not many adults would have the patience to comment on every book, and make the children feel like they are authors too.” Barb Meyer, Lincoln Elementary School, Dayton, KY
